INDIGO
JAPAN DORAKU is a project founded with the theme of ``creating a bright future through the circulation of people and money'' and focusing on the inheritance of Japanese tradition and culture, with social activities as its first priority.
SEILIN & Cosympathized with this project and created a special collection with original brands.
[Design]
These work trousers are luxuriously made with genuine indigo-dyed selvedge denim created using thread dyed using an indigo dyeing technique called natural lye fermentation.
[Material]
The raw material is Zimbabwe cotton, which is considered to be one of the highest quality cotton varieties and is one of the super long cottons used mainly in jeans.
Because the yarn is hand-picked without the use of chemical fertilizers or machines, we are able to produce thread that is supple, white, soft, and of high quality with a natural uneven feel.
The warp threads made from Zimbabwean cotton are indigo-dyed using natural lye fermentation. We use the indigo from Shirahanakogami powder, which won the first class title of ``Zuiichi'' at the Aidaichi, an indigo dyeing competition held during the Edo period.
We are particular about the materials we use to protect 100% natural products. Indigo dyeing is born from the blessings of nature, and in order to bring out the power of the raw materials, we use only a limited number of ingredients: plum, lye, slaked lime, sake, and wheat gluten, and perform all processes using traditional methods.
This is a luxurious and special denim fabric that is made from indigo dyed threads that are dyed in a traditional process over time, and woven slowly and without stress on an old-fashioned power loom.
[Details/Silhouette]
The motif is old work pants. One tuck gives just the right amount of volume around the waist. It has a thick silhouette that is typical of work pants, and is gently tapered towards the hem for a classy finish despite its thickness. We have removed as much detail as possible to highlight the silhouette and quality of the materials.
